Surf

While swells roll in May-December in Panama, surf season is all year at Burica Point. Even when the rest of Punta Burica is as flat as a pancake, the island off the point (Isla Burica) catches a small, albeit rideable swell all year. Breaks in the area can accommodate beginner to advanced surfers and SUP. For those interested in destination paddling, Isla Burica is about a 25 min paddle from Burica Surf Bed & Breakfast, and makes for a leisurely afternoon activity.

Jungle Hikes

Discover the beauty of the Panamanian jungle by foot! There are many hikes to pick from in the immediate area that guarantee wildlife sightings such as birds, monkeys, iguanas, and if you’re lucky, sloths!

Fishing

Hooked on Panama lodge is located about 11km north of Burica Point, and offers day and week-long sportfishing outings. Giant Yellowfin Tuna, Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Cubera Snapper, Rooster Fish, and Dorado are all frequent vistors to the waters off Panama. The best season for billfish is December through April. The Giant Yellowfin Tuna are most frequent in the spring, with tuna over 200 lbs. commonly caught between March and April.
